Collection: Singer Model 28 Handcrank

Date: 1911

Decals: Victorian

Purchased: Belonged to neighbor's mother.  Bought at garage sale $40. Includes note to mother, dated 1975, presumably from friend from whom she bought it, on care and feeding.

Needs cleaning.

That's a beautiful piece of machinery. My mother made most of my clothes and hers on a Singer with a large pedal and would pump it back and forth in perfect rhythm.

Treadling is very relaxing, right up until the time when you suddenly get distracted and the wheel turns backwards and your thread gets tangled. But other than that I love it. :-)
