Words to live by.  Closely followed by "Am I under arrest?", "Am I being detained?", and "Am I free to go?"

Government agents have no right to walk up to you and search you.  It requires what is called "reasonable articulable suspicion", and it requires a warrant to search you or your possessions without your consent, other than an "officer safety" pat-down if they do have reason to stop you.  These searches were illegal and unconstitutional.  I don't understand why people submit to this kind of garbage.

Forgot to bring a grocery bag? THIEF!

A woman in Bellingham, Washington (which recently decreed that it is illegal for stores to give you a bag to put your groceries in) didn't have her own grocery bags with her, so she just pushed her cart out to the car and loaded everything up.

Next thing you know, the police are walking into her house WITHOUT A WARRANT and WITHOUT AN INVITATION.  That's right. Just walked in.  Illegal as hell.

So what do approximately half the commenters have to say?  "They are just doing their job",  "Lighten up".  I say she needs to file a complaint with the city and those officers need to be trained in the Constitution.  Oh, and maybe the call center should think about asking questions regarding whether the caller ACTUALLY saw someone shoplifting.
