White Book 11 sewing machine manual:
1. Any needle offered for sale without the name White F.R. stamped on the shank is "bogus"
I thought this was a fairly modern word but apparently 1839 or so. (Quotation marks in the original so probably considered slang even when this booklet was printed.
2. It is the desire of every women to understand the art of making fine buttonholes.
Ah, how times have changed. Or maybe modernity has just suppressed the natural desire of women? 🤣
