Stuff I just need to get off my chest.
Authorities should use the background check database as a way to find
assault weapon purchasers who might not have registered those guns in
compliance with the new law.
Even better was a letter written to the editor. To wit:""Thousands Ignore Law On Gun Registration"]. Then now is the time to increase the penalty and start rounding them up. At the first sign that someone has an illegal weapon , they should be immediately tried and imprisoned. These are the people we must be worried and concerned about -- the ones who need to keep their ownership secret. "Ordinarily, I'd say "Let's go" at the prospect of a jury trial, but given the tone of half of the letters to the editor of the Hartford Courant, perhaps a nullification of this unconstitutional law by a jury would be too much to expect.
Thanks EW. One wonders where we have got to as a society when our fellow citizens will use the words "rounded up" when discussing a Constitutionally protected right. The good news is that the comments since Pam's have been pretty pro gun and anti rounding-up-your-fellow citizens.
