Bothers me more than a little.
"This gun is registered, sheriff."
"We found a .38 under her bed, and it wasn't registered."
Both from the same show set in Wyoming. Wyoming has no gun registration.
How hard would it be to do a little research about gun laws in the state in which you are setting your show before you write inane script lines?
Not the only time this has happened.
Michael Connelly, an author I thoroughly enjoy, does the same thing with California gun laws. He's constantly having the police check the gun registry to see if someone has a gun or make comments about someone's unregistered gun, even though California is another state which does not have gun registration.
