You may be wondering where am I going with this. I just picked up the latest Terry Brooks Shannara novel. Let me give you a clue.
There is an evil druid.
There is someone who wields the magic of the Wishsong, although they can't right now for some reason.
There is another someone who wields the enchanted Sword of Leah.
Apparently he has run out of ideas because it is this again. Brooks must think that a 100 year gap in story time means that we won't remember having read the same plot over and over. Boring.
Highlight of the past twenty years, Genesis and Legends. After he merged the Word and the Void and Shannara series (which was mindblowing, I never saw it coming) into Genesis, the Legends was a nice interlude, and now we have the same story we've read a half dozen times.
