Strawberry Melomel

Melomel is mead made with fruit, in case you were wondering.  Been making mead for the past few months, got three batches out and about ready to drink but wanted to do something different for the fourth.   Basic quick mead recipe but added some dried orange peel and two cups of mashed strawberries fresh from my friend's garden.

Got home this afternoon and the airlock was sitting on the floor six feet away and there was strawberry all over.  Guess the cats don't like yeast and honey flavored strawberries, and I guess that the pressure was too much for the airlock.  Now I have a racking cane running out of that cork and into the sink. 

I'm looking forward to this one.
